Reika’s background ripped my heart out of my chest.
It makes me so angry when people say she was the enemy; she wasn’t the enemy, she was the project of what the enemy did. The enemy was the Kuze Head, not her.She was angry and hurt, tired and lost. She wasn’t evil, she wasn’t a monster. All she wanted was the pain to go away. Can you blame her? Reika was etched with the pain of the entire manor, it was part of her and it was all she could feel.
Her only happiness were Kaname’s letters; her only relief.
And then when she could finally see him again, one last time, before she slept forever, she had that last flicker of happiness, and it was ripped from her. She was lying there, helpless, and had to watch him die.
Is it such a surprise she wished revenge on the manor, had she not suffered enough for them to live happily? Could she not be allowed that one last moment of bliss?
Even after all that, they destroyed the last thing she had.
She wasn’t the enemy.
She just wanted to sleep the pain away.
